Always use the correct coax, this applies equally to the CB and any receiving equipment. Using the incorrect cable will leave a system prone to problems, including interference.
There may also be problems associated with some cheap cables, as they lose more signal than high quality cable will.

The position of your coax can also be important. It should not be placed next to TV or radio coax.
